Bronco Sport vs. Jeep Cherokee

The New Ford Bronco vs. the New Jeep Wrangler: Which Compact SUV Is More Refined?

If you want a compact SUV that can climb steep hills and drive over large rocks, get the new Ford Bronco. Along with its exceptional off-road skills, the Bronco also rides comfortably on paved streets in Sebring, FL. The new Jeep Wrangler is also an off-road beast with a range of capable engines, but it isn't as well-rounded as the Bronco. Alan Jay Ford created the following comparison of the two SUVs to aid you with your choice.

Performance and Capability

Standard Engine Power

The new Ford Bronco comes standard with a turbocharged 300-horsepower four-cylinder engine that has ample oomph for passing other vehicles on the highway in Avon Park, FL. Two other twin-turbocharged V6 motors are available in the Bronco.

The new Jeep Wrangler's base engine only produces 285 horsepower. If you want more muscle, you have to pay more for an upgraded motor.

Ground Clearance

If you'd like to be able to clear big obstacles in the woods or hills outside of Arcadia, FL, you need high ground clearance. The new Ford Bronco Raptor offers up to 13.1 inches of clearance to help you get over any logs, rocks, or debris you may encounter in the wilderness.

The new Jeep Wrangler is also a capable off-roader, but its maximum ground clearance is just 12.9 inches.

Ride Quality

You'll most likely spend more time driving on paved roads in Lake Placid, FL than you will on rugged trails. The new Ford Bronco's independent front suspension and accurate steering keep it composed on city streets and highways.

The new Jeep Wrangler's firm suspension sends judders and jolts throughout the cabin when encountering rough pavement, and it struggles to reign in body lean around turns or to resist crosswinds on the highway.

Interior

Cargo Space

If you frequently bring camping supplies, suitcases, or sports equipment in your SUV, you'll need plenty of room to store these items. Sebring, FL drivers will appreciate that the new Ford Bronco has over 52 cubic feet of total cargo space in two-door models and more than 77 cubic feet of room in four-door versions.

The new Jeep Wrangler isn't as spacious. Two-door Wranglers offer up to 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space, while four-door models max out at 72.4 cubic feet of room.

Technology

Infotainment System

You'll have easy access to your smartphone apps and music playlists while driving the new Ford Bronco through Avon Park, FL. Its straightforward infotainment system comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Jeep Wrangler also has an intuitive infotainment system, but it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen. Wireless smartphone integration is not available in the Wrangler.

Safety Features

Lake Placid drivers will breathe easier with the new Ford Bronco, which comes standard with five driver assistance features that help them avoid accidents.

The new Jeep Wrangler only comes standard with a rearview camera. If you want more advanced active safety amenities, you must pay more to add them.
